Grosvenor Mobile Betting App Reviewed
Grosvenor are the largest land-based casino operator in the UK and have been serving the needs of fans for nearly 50 years. Two years ago, they started offering sports betting to their many customers. In this impartial review we test out the Grosvenor mobile sports betting app.
If you have ever been into a bricks and mortar casino, the chances are it was one from this operator. It is the UK’s biggest operator with 55 casinos in towns and cities in the UK. Established in 1970, they are one of the most respected names in the business.

Two years ago, they entered the sports betting arena and when we did our initial analysis, we rated the operator as one for the future with a solid offering which scored ‘very good’ in our review. We were however disappointed that no mobile app was available. Grosvenor heard our pleas and have released a fully functional mobile app, but is it any good?
Get Started with Grosvenor
It’s simplicity itself to get the Grosvenor app on your mobile device. At the top of this page you will see a QR code, launch the camera on your device and point it at the QR. Almost instantly it will ask if you want to open the page in the app store. Select yes and click on the install button. Downloading is quick and once done just press the open button to launch.
The whole process only takes a couple of minutes and when you launch the app you have the opportunity to log in or create a new account.
What Can I Find in the Grosvenor Sportsbook App
Once you launch the app you will see the same markets that you will find on the Grosvenor mobile website, which is a great selection of over 35 markets. No surprises that the usual suspects such as football, horse racing and greyhound racing are covered but you can also find obscure events such as netball, cycling, athletics, and floorball covered. If you need a break from sport betting there is a novelty bet section with many diverse topics such as Donald Trump being named Time magazine person of the year, the value of pound sterling being higher or lower than the Euro, and many more.
App Design and Navigation
It is easy to use. The menu icon is located on the top left of the screen so this enables almost all of the screen space to be used for the betting markets, which is something we liked. Many online sports bookmakers’ apps look fairly dull but Grosvenor’s offering includes a lot of colour which makes the visuals attractive but not distracting.
Size of the selection boxes can make a huge difference to the customer experience, especially if you are betting on the move. Grosvenor have this about right with large boxes containing the selections which are easy to read. One thing we liked that is quite unique to Grosvenor is how much information they can squeeze into these boxes without it being overwhelming. For example, in the recent cricket test match between England and Sri Lanka, they somehow managed to display the result of the first test in the selection box while the second test was in play. This gave the information needed to make an informed bet without being overwhelming.
Another feature we liked was the ability to save certain events and markets to our favourites, particularly useful for more obscure markets that you would normally need to search for.
- Betting App Navigation The user-friendly design coupled with an aesthetic interface means navigation is seamless.
- Football Bets on the App Grosvenor’s fantastic football betting features are reflected on its app.
- Live Betting on Mobile With their app, Grosvenor have live betting feature to a whole new level.
- Horse Racing Markets With the Grosvenor app, access to all UK and Irish races is just a finger tip away.
- Safe Mobile Transactions When you place a bet with the Grosvenor app, you have a decent number of payment options. They’re also committed to safe transactions.
Live Betting and Streaming
Horseracing is the only sport that the Grosvenor app streams live events for. All UK and Irish racing is available as long as you make a £1 single bet or £1.50 each way. Other sports are not available but this isn’t a big surprise as many online betting sites take the same route as Grosvenor and depict the action of an event in the form of icons to show the action. This is done ok, certainly not the best we have seen but totally functional.
If you access an event that will be available for live betting before an event by selecting ‘starting soon’ you see a snapshot of the event with the odds for the straight selections shown. A number within the boxes shows you the amount of betting opportunities for that event. This can be a large amount, for example, even a Europa League match between KRC Genk and Beşiktas has 253 events you can bet on pre-match such as goal scorers, 3-way handicap, Asian lines and amount of corners.
Something that is quite unique at Grosvenor is the ability to bet against an event happening in a match. Several sites offer a limited market on this but few go into as much depth as they do. For example, I can bet for or against a player to score & get booked, to provide an assist, to get booked & the player’s team to lose, it’s common for you to be able to bet for an event but rarer to be able to bet against.
With live betting you also get access to statistics provided by betradar who are one of the leading names in sports betting data. One click and you will be able to see thousands of valuable pieces of statistical information for both pre-match and in-play.
Bonus Offers for Grosvenor App Users
There were no special promotions aimed exclusively for Grosvenor mobile app users at time of writing this review, but new customers can take advantage of one of our favourite promotions for sports betting fans. Instead of offering a matched deposit or a token free bet, they give you the chance to prove your betting prowess by giving you double the odds on your first bet. This applies to any sport, any bet and any odds. There are few conditions to this offer which we love, the main stipulation is that the bet is a maximum of £10.
What is great about this promotion is the dilemma it poses, do I go for a huge outsider or do I play it safe? Remember when Buster Douglas beat Mike Tyson at 42/1, with this promotion it would have been 84/1. The list continues; Goran Ivanisevic winning Wimbledon in 2001 @ 150/1 becomes 300/1, Greece’s 150/1 to win in Euro 2004 becomes 300/1, Leicester City’s heroic Premier League victory would be worth 10,000/1 and Frankie Dettori’s seven straight victories at Ascot would have been boosted from 25,095 to a mouth-watering 50,190/1.
If uniqueness is your thing then Grosvenor sportsbook app users can participate in the weekly, free-to-play football predictor game. 10 fixtures and you must predict the first goal scorers. If you achieve this amazing feat then £1 million is yours. There are also a prize of £10,000 if all your players score at any point in the games. Lowering the bar, you get a £10 free bet if 3 or more of your players score first.
Betslip and Minimum Bet
The intuitive design of the Grosvenor app makes it easy to add selections to your betting slip. When you add a selection, the betting slip hides away in the bottom left corner. The benefit of this is that it makes it incredibly easy to add multiple selections without getting in the way.
The minimum bet of 10p is reasonable but could prove expensive if adding high numbers of selections to the betting slip. The maximum number of bets that can be added to the betting slip is twelve, a bit more restrictive than sites such as bet365 who allow fourteen selections, but this is adequate for most punters.
One feature we really liked is that when you add multiple selections the system automatically assumes you are placing an accumulator bet and treats your selections as such. This sounds a minor consideration, yet with many other sports betting apps you have to build your selections then click on a multiples tab and then select the stake of the accumulator, so this is much easier and faster.
Transactions & More
Grosvenor state that they are one of the safest online betting sites to play on and we agree. The parent company, Rank are listed on the London Stock Exchange and they use the services of eCOGRA (eCommerce Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance) who ensure the fairness of the Grosvenor sportsbook app.
The depositing methods accepted when using the sportsbook are the same as the website with Visa and Mastercard debit cards being accepted as well as Maestro. The only other methods accepted are PayPal and paysafecard. For such a large online and land-based operator, this is somewhat disappointing. 888sport for example offer over 30 different ways to fund your account.

For single bets you shouldn’t have any issues with the winning limits when using the product, a maximum win of £250,000 is in place. This could be an issue for accumulators so we’d recommend reducing your number of selections to give you a better chance of success. There is also a daily winning limit in place that differs for different sports with football being set at £250,000 and tennis standing at £150,000. Rather surprisingly horse racing is set at a lowly £100,000 so high rollers need to be aware of these limits. Plenty of high rollers use mobile, check the sports betting apps with great payment limits for a better overview.
Grosvenor App: iOS & Android Requirements
As long as you own a fairly modern device then you’ll not have any issues installing and running the Grosvenor app download. At only 16Mb in size it downloads quickly, dependant on your internet connection of course.
Both the iOS and Android versions are available via Grosvenor’s website or from Apple’s Store or Google’s Play Store. Apple devices need to be on at least 10.0 which does mean that phones with models 4S and below will not work with this app, but you could still access the Grosvenor mobile website to create an account or log in and place bets.
Android users need to be on at least Marshmallow (6.0) operating system. You may need to allow the phone to allow the download by navigating to settings, selecting security and check the option “unknown sources”. To stay safe ensure you turn this setting off after installing the Grosvenor app.
- Android Android OS 4.4 or later.
- iPhone and iPad iOS Version: iOS 9.0 or later.
Users of unsupported devices such as Blackberry and Nokia phones can still access the sports betting markets by accessing the mobile website by using the browser built into the devices.
The Grosvenor sports betting app is one of the fastest we have used in all of our reviews. It doesn’t continually refresh which makes the experience fast and fluid. The layout is great with a sensible design that makes it easy to place a sports bet no matter what environment you are in.

- Grosvenor Mobile App Pros & Cons
- Watch all UK and Irish horse races
- Impressive number of markets
- Interactive platform
- Great support including live chat
- Number of available languages
- Bet placement speed
We love the attention to detail within the product and since the 2.10.1 version, users can play the Grosvenor Goals prediction game on the move, which certainly makes the commute to work a bit more bearable. Making acca bets is a breeze, the app makes it quick and easy. It is not perfect though, the lack of being able to log in using Touch ID is frustrating, especially as it has a tendency to forget your details. The app also had a habit of crashing but this seems to have been resolved with the latest update.
Another killer feature is when you select a football match, the league table is automatically shown which really helps you in your decision making.
The lack of some payment methods is slightly disappointing and we would have preferred more streaming events but what they provide is good for UK and Irish horseracing events. Overall despite a few flaws we are happy to recommend the Grosvenor sports betting platform
