Dog racing fans are also looked after with ‘Racing Beaten by a Length’ and the same thing applies, place a bet at any Live Sky Dogs race and if your selection finishes second, beaten by a length or less then Coral will give your money back as a free bet up to £25. As with most operators Coral also offer ‘Racing Best Price Guaranteed’ which means that if you take an early price or board price and the starting price (sp) is better then they will pay the greater odds.

- Dwight Gayle wins it for the Eagles with a late strike

If you are a fan of the old style ‘Football pools’ then you will be pleased to learn that Coral have re-launched the Football Jackpot for the 2014/2015 season! There’s a jackpot waiting to be won each and every week! You need to predict the outcome of 15 matches and you could turn £1 into £100,000. It is predicted that over the course of the season that this prize pot could be in excess of £1 million, how amazing would that be for a quid?
I really like the navigation on the Coral site which makes selecting a bet easy and straightforward, it may not be obvious immediately but you can customise each section and add markets that you have interest in being displayed by making use of the ‘My Coral’ section. I also like the fact that you can minimise sections to give you more screen space. The list of markets is OK and certainly doesn’t have the variety or numbers as other sites like Coralfor example but of course all the popular topics are well catered for.
If you like your novelty bets then Coral is the bookie to turn to as they have great seasonal bets such as ‘River Thames To Freeze From Bank To Bank Anywhere Between London Bridge And Tower Bridge’ at 66/1. The opposite end of the spectrum shows ‘UK Temperature High To Be Broken (38.5C Recorded By The Met Office) ‘ at 14/1. The slightly off key bets don’t stop with the weather though, You can even have a flutter on the next royal baby’s sex, political bets are also well supported like who will be the next prime minister.

One market that is really gaining a lot of popularity are ‘Virtual Sports’, Coral has 7 different virtual sports; Virtual Horse Racing, Virtual Greyhounds, Virtual Football, Virtual Tennis, Virtual Motorsports, Virtual Speedway and Virtual Cycling and these are an entertaining way to have a bet while you are waiting for a real-life event to start. The Virtual Sports console shows you at a glance which races are coming up and it’s normally only seconds until the next race at any given time.
Coral As seen on TV
Bet in-play multi-view is a great and novel idea, you can drag and drop selections to make your own channel which means you will not miss any of the action, it is done well and we love to see innovation like this. Coral live stream is also worthy of a mention, as long as you have credit in your account then you can watch over 5,000 events streamed for free. You can watch selected Football, Tennis, Snooker, Rugby and Basketball games from your PC. Currently only football and tennis are available on mobile devices but this is a far superior offering than many of their rivals.
Coral radio is available within the sports section and this lets you listen to horse racing commentary , football commentary, cricket commentary, greyhound commentary and football scores. One thing I did discover was that the radio opened in a small window and it hid a ‘football news’ button, I’m glad I found this link as the person running the radio show sounded like a Geordie Gary Neville if you can imagine such a thing!
As a bit of a self confessed geek, I must admit to loving the ‘statistics’ tab, it really is a fountain of knowledge and helps you assess form and previous meetings at a glance. The information contained is very detailed but yet still easy to navigate and at no point are you ever overwhelmed.
Banking and Transactions
With a huge, well established company like Coral you can make deposits with confidence knowing that they use the latest and most secure encryption technology to keep your money and personal details safe. One of the best features I feel Coral offer, is the ability to get your winnings paid out at a Coral shop using the ‘Bet and Collect’ service. For this to happen you need to apply for a free connect card which is easy to do via their website. Coral connect allows you to collect your winnings in any of the 1800 coral shops. Please note that there are 2 account types:
Full Coral Connect, this account lets you enjoy the full benefits of Coral Connect. You can bet in shop, online, via mobile, tablet and via the telephone using your card acting as one account. With the card you can withdraw your winnings in cash from any Coral shop or directly to your registered online bank card.
In-Shop only Connect, In shop only account allows you to bet in shop only with your Coral Connect account. It allows you to perform cashless transactions and quicker more efficient bet placements. If you get a winner you can keep the funds on your Connect card or withdraw the winnings in cash from any Coral shop.
Coral Help & Support
As one of the largest online bookmakers, Coral have built up quite a reputation for offering great customer support and offer the usual contact methods of live chat, email, telephone and by letter. We have a few times contacted Coral regarding a query about Ukash depositing and I was really impressed with the level of service I received.
Live chat was answered within seconds and the person I was typing with was very knowledgeable and helpful. Even though the answers were available on the website, the person I was chatting with didn’t just point me to the site but instead took the time to explain. Even when I didn’t understand some of the finer details of the connect card the person on the livechat was patient and explained in simple English.
I really like the fact that they tell you the waiting times or ‘average response times’ before you contact them as you can choose to wait or to try at a later time. At the time of writing the response time for live chat is 55 seconds, Email is 2 hours and 55 mins and telephone 18 seconds. I feel this is impressive and shows Corals dedication to customer service.

Coral – The History of this Online Sportsbook
Almost anyone in Britain who has gambled will probably have had contact with Coral. Coral was founded in 1926 by Joseph Kagarlitsky who changed his name to Joe Coral. Joe began his fledgling bookmakers business after borrowing some money from a friend and started to run betting pitches at dog and speedway tracks. In 1960 the government changed the law on betting establishments and Coral was one of the first ‘off-course’ shops in 1961.

Coral started their online sportsbook in the late 90s, acquiring Eurobet along the way; thus helping them to become one of the biggest online betting sites in the UK. Coral was previously owned by the Gala Coral Group, but in late 2016 they announced a merger with Ladbrokes to join their shares together to create a new company entitled the Ladbrokes Coral Group Plc. Together their company worth totals over £2.3 billion. As a result of the deal, which was approved by the UK Competition and Markets authority, both parties had to sell around 320 betting shops to other companies to prevent a monopoly of the market. This was a notable move because as opposed to competing against each other, both companies decided it was more financially beneficial to join forces in this increasingly complex digital betting age.
Why Did You Give This Sportsbook a 4/5 Grade?
I really like Coral, it is a very easy site to navigate and you can make a bet with the minimum of fuss. Coral are innovators and exclusive games such as ‘Football Jackpot’ are fun to play and bring excitement to the table. The range of markets is good but not spectacular but what they do offer is done well.

Coral Connect is a great facility and one we definitely recommend you sign up for, I don’t know about you but I love my winnings paid out in cash rather than to my card (stops the girlfriend buying shoes with my winnings!!)
Coral Highly recommended for horse racing Visit Site!
There was just a couple of things that stop Coral getting our highest accolade, the initial bonus is not the best and in our view there are better offers out there and we feel the lack of in play cashout is a shame (Paddy Power) but overall this is a fantastic site that looks after it’s customers well and certainly one of our favourites that we will continue to use on a weekly basis.
