Kick-off: Saturday, 3pm
Venue: The Etihad Stadium
Coverage: Sky Sports 1, BBC 5 Live
Home form: LDWWW
Away form: LWWWD
Last season: 2-0
Competition: The Premier League

Manchester City were smashed by Liverpool 1-4 in the last Premiership round. The Citizens were outplayed and deservedly lost the game. Now, they haven’t recorded a win in 2 consecutive Premier League matches. That was the second time this season Manchester City conceded 4 into their net. Pellegrini will have to make serious changes in his squad, in order to improve the performance on the pitch.

On the other hand, Southampton were disappointed at home in the 13th round, when they lost 0-1 to Stoke City. Even though The Saints lost the match, they played pretty well, but couldn’t find Jack Butland’s net, who’s been simply brilliant from the beginning of the season. Southampton’s counter-attacking style will be very unsettling for City’s defence.

The Citizens have recorded 5 home victories and two defeats. They have scored 20 goals in 7 games, which is very impressive and they are still favourites for winning the match. The Saints haven’t lost a single game away from home. Southampton have won twice and have finished with a draw on 4 occasions.

Team News

Sergio Aguero, who has recently recovered from an injury, scored a goal against Liverpool and will be a key part of The Citizens attack again.

Vincent Kompany is injured again. He is suffering from a calf muscle strain and is surely missing the match against Southampton.

Wilfried Bony is sidelined because of injury. The Ivorian has a hamstring problem and will have to take a rest for at least a couple of weeks.

Rodriguez, Gardos and Forster are on Southampton’s injury list. They will return to full training within 3-4 months.
