First takes on third in a classic EPL clash

|Last Meeting:||Man City 1 – 0 Spurs|
Manchester City started their season with a perfect performance in the opening match against West Ham. Raheem Sterling put in a man of the match performance, scoring three goals, and the rest of the team looked hungry to dominate a weaker opposition. Tottenham had a last minute brace from Kane to thank for their opening win, and up to that moment the game was precariously poised at 1-1 against Aston Villa, who did take a surprise opening lead against Spurs.
The first game at the Etihad is set to be a cracker. The ruthless nature of Man City in these high-profile games leaves you wondering what the Spurs defence can do to thwart the multiple avenues of attack for Man City. The last 5 meetings between these two sides have seen Man City come away with a victory, with Tottenham winning one. The likelihood of another Man City win does seem practically inevitable given that statistic. Tottenham won’t be disheartened though, going into this fixture they will be confident of causing an upset, and at least finding the back of the net. Harry Kane is a persistent threat for the vulnerable centre backs in the Man City lineup.
Man City are a very difficult team to beat. Arguably the strongest team in world football at the moment they are playing a game of who can score the most goals in a tit-for-tat battle against Liverpool. The overall feeling in the dugouts around England is that Man City are the strongest team in the world. The latest acquisition of Rodri, a midfield conductor that has been causing waves of hype in Spain, along with Portuguese pacey right-back Cancelo, the squad is being strengthened in-depth. What many will consider being their first real test of the season, against a Champions League final participant from last year, Man City will be making their intentions clear if they can pull off a decisive victory against Spurs.
Manchester City are still missing German winger Leroy Sane.
Benjamin Mendy and Fernandinho still remain unavailable for selection. But the core Man City lineup is fully fit and available.
Tottenham will struggle with some key players missing: Son Heung-Min and Dele Alli are still out of action due to physio concerns.
New signing Ryan Sessegnon will be available for selection after missing the first game of the season against Aston Villa.
