Competition: EPL

After nearly two weeks without Premier League football, it returns with a bang. Liverpool host Spurs in what will be a tense affair. Tottenham will be looking for their first win in five PL games, whilst Liverpool want to stay on top.

Liverpool’s title challenge continues in what amounts to be their toughest test left on the fixture list. Their home form has been incredible and they haven’t lost at home in 36 PL games, what’s more, they haven’t lost to Spurs at home in 24 PL games (having won 15). They will hope they can continue with these dominant figures, as every game they play from now until the end of the season is a must-win fixture.

Liverpool have received some encouraging news on the injury front with Joe Gomez being welcomed back to the squad after 4 months out. They will also see Shaqiri return and will need all of their squad for the run-in. This game figures to be too soon for Oxlade-Chamberlain, but it is looking more likely he will feature for the first team at some point this season. With Sane in scintillating form, they are hoping Salah can also refind his scoring boots, after not finding the net in the past five games.

Spurs are seemingly in freefall. They haven’t won in the past four PL games, and are now in a battle to stay in the top four. They lost to Southampton, Chelsea, and Burnley, and just do not look themselves. It seems as though their lack of signings has finally caught up with them, and are really struggling to find any kind of from.

They will be looking for talisman Kane to spur them on, in his last four appearances against Liverpool he has been involved in four goals. They haven’t beaten Liverpool since May 2011, so it will be a tough test, for a side who look set to be missing key players Winks and Dier. Whatever happens it will be a tight game, with both teams afraid to make mistakes. It could come down the final minutes, it may not be a classic, but it will certainly be intriguing.

Team News

Sadio Mane has scored the most goals in the PL in 2019 with nine so far this year.

Liverpool face a wait to see if Trent Alexander-Arnold will be available, after a back injury.

Harry Winks and Eric Dier remains doubts for Spurs, who are sweating over their fitness.

Liverpool should be abale to welcome back Joe Gomez after a fourth month injury layoff.

Conclusion & Betting Tips

Tottenham looked certainties for a top-four place only a month ago. Recent results have been absolutely dire and they are now in danger of missing out on a CL place. On the other hand, Liverpool need a win to stay top. It will be a tense game, but we expect a Liverpool win. They are 8/13 (1.6) to win at betway.
