Competition: EPL

The Saturday tea-time game will see Machester City visit Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and they are hoping to carry on their scintilating Premier League form. On the other hand, Chelsea are seeking to arrest their recent worrying form.

Manchester City have been in dominant form this season, and are coming off a solid midweek performance against Watford, where Riyad Mahrez played exceptionally. It’s a testament to City’s strength-in-depth that they continue to win despite some key injuries to star players such as Kevin De Bruyne and Bernard Mendy. City will also be sweating on the fitness of Aguero who didn’t make the trip on Tuesday. If he can’t play, they’ll be looking for Sane and Sterling to continue in their rich vein of form. Sterling has scored eight times and has six assists to his name, and is developing into one of the Premier League’s superstars.

City’s Premier League form coming into this fixture is phenomenal. They haven’t lost yet, and have won seven in a row. In those seven wins they scored an incredible 24 goals, whilst only conceding 4. They are truly on fire this season, but what is remarkable is they are only two points clear at the top. That is thanks to Liverpool’s equally impressive form. The pressure is still on for City, and whilst the challenge is still close, they won’t take their foot off the gas. Although Chelsea will prove a stern challenge, City have already reeled off wins against, Spurs, Arsenal, and United in impressive fashion.

Despite the strong start, the wheels have well and truly come off the Maurizio Sarri train the past few weeks. After enjoying a record-breaking unbeaten start, Chelsea have lost two of their last three games, and are 10 points behind the leaders. Their performance midweek against Wolves left a lot to be desired. Sarri probably had an eye on the weekend’s fixture and made five changes to the starting line-up. Something that ultimately backfired after letting a 1-0 lead slip away to a defeat. Chelsea also wilted in a 3-1 loss to Spurs recently and will have to perform better if they want to take anything from this game.

With only one win in their last four PL games, Chelsea are in danger of slipping out of the Champions League places. This is particularly disappointing considering at one point it looked as though they could challenge for the title. Against the ‘big’ teams Chelsea have also been hit-and-miss this season. They have lost to Spurs, drawn with Liverpool and United, whilst their early season victory to Arsenal seems a long way away. A win against City would definitley make this Premier League season even more interesting, but it just seems a bit of a long shot.

Chelsea come into this game relatively healthy with only Barkley and Moses doubtful to play.

Chelsea have lost two of their last three games.

The Champions are yet to lose a match in the Premier League, with thirteen wins and two draws to sit on top of the table, but still only two points ahead of Liverpool.

Conclusion & Betting Tips

The last three games between these sides have ended in a Manchester City win to nil. Chelsea’s form has faltered of late, but City have only kept a clean sheet in one of the previous five PL outings, which suggests they are vulnerable at the back.

It looks as though the City steam train will continue rolling in this game, so we suggest City to win and if you are feeling lucky, both teams to score. Get the best odds at Royal Panda.
