Competition: The Premier League

With only 4 points in the bag after 11 rounds, Aston Villa have had a nightmare start to this Premier League season. The Lions are among the teams, who will be fighting to avoid relegation. In addition, The Villains owner has recently sacked the manager – Tim Sherwood. Now, there is a new manager and his name is Remi Garde.

The Villains were beat 3-1 in their last Premiership match against Tottenham on Monday. Tottenham smashed Aston Villa in the first 45 minutes and led 2-0 at half time. The guests intensified after the break and in the 78th minute Bacuna hit the post with a nice effort from just outside the box. A little bit later Jordan Ayew reduced the lead to 2-1. He took advantage of a mistake in Tottenham’s half, progressed with the ball and took a shot from 25 meters. Then Gestede missed a very good chance and that was it for Villa. The team from Birmingham conceded their seventh consecutive defeat in the league. They’ve already failed in ten Premier League matches and are now lying bottom with a record four points.

What to say about Manchester City – the numbers speak for them selves. The Citizens have won 8 of their 11 matches in the campaign. Furthermore, they have kept a clean sheet in 6 of them. So, the expectation is for City to win with ease against Villa.

Team News

Remi Garde can use all Aston Villa’s players, because he has no injured footballers. However, none of his players are in good form.

Sergio Aguero is suffering from a hamstring problem and he is not expected to return to full training for at least a week.

Pablo Zabaleta will also not be fit until the end of November. The Argentinian is suffering from a knee injury and has made an appearance on the pitch only twice so far.

Samir Nasri is another main omission for Manuel Pellegrini. The Frenchman should be recovered within two weeks.
