Last Meeting: Chelsea 3 – 2 Arsenal
Competition: EPL

Following a great start to the season, Arsenal’s form has dipped dramatically. Chelsea now hold a 6-point cushion over their London rivals in the battle for fourth place abd will be looking to inflict further damage on Saturday.

After an embarrassing defeat against West Ham the last time out, the Gunners will be hoping to perform better this week. What’s more, now Manchester Utd are breathing down their necks they will be desperate to pick up points here. Arsenal are still without Mkhitaryan and long-term absentees Holding and Welbeck, but otherwise, have their full squad to choose from. The news this week was dominated by Cech’s forthcoming retirement. The keeper has had a magnificent career and will hang up his gloves at the end of the season. His replacement, Leno, has left a lot to be desired in his performances so far, and Arsenal will be hoping that he steps up to the mark.

Mesut Ozil is still out of favour with Unai Emery and there is increasing speculation he will leave, it’s unsure if he will be in the squad this weekend. The Gunners look set to rely on the youngster Guendouzi, and Xhaka to play in the middle of the park. They will also be hoping Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang can continue to fire them to success, with the striker having a wonderful season so far.

Chelsea are going for four wins in five matches, and are looking to do the double of Arsenal having beat them earlier this season. With Alvaro Morata set to leave the club, Chelsea look like they will have to rely on Olivier Giroud to lead the line. They have been linked with Gonzalo Higuain but so far nothing has materialised. Since Christmas, the Blues have been in tremendous form, something in stark contrast to the Gunners. They will hope this continues in this game, and with no new injury news to worry about it looks like they’ll be raring to go.

This game could really cement Chelsea’s top-four claim. Sarri will be hoping for a win, but a draw would also be palatable. It won’t be an easy game, but Chelsea seem to have the confidence that Arsenal are missing. Lead by star-man Eden Hazard, anything is possible when he is on the ball. It shapes up to be a great game, and as always it will be a feisty London derby.

Team News

Arsenal will be without Henrik Mkhitaryan, Rob Holding, and Danny Welbeck.

It remains to be seen if Mesut Ozil will be in the squad, however it looks unlikely.

Alvaro Morata looks set to leave Chelsea, and will most likely miss the game.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek remains on the sidelines for the Blues.

Conclusion & Betting Tips

Arsenal come into this game searching for some form. It is a game they cannot afford to lose. Even so, this could play into Chelsea’s hands with Arsenal playing high up the pitch leaving gaps at the back for Hazard to exploit. Chelsea to win and both teams to score is our guess, at bet365, you can take this at a very tasty 4.00 (3/1).
