A Full Grosvenor Sports Review: Online Betting & Bonuses

Last updated: by Leon Marshal

Grosvenor is a name synonymous with casinos in the UK, and now it’s looking to break into the world of sports betting. As such, we thought it only fair to put it through its paces and provide you with a full and detailed Grosvenor Sports review of its payouts, features and bonuses, to find out whether the sportsbook is worthy of your attention.

A Review of the Features

The Grosvenor sports betting site may still be in its infancy but now it has a welcome bonus worthy of the best bettors. Exclusive to the Grosvenor betting platform, when you register with the bookmaker you are entitled to a “Double the Odds” token, which can be used on any sports market. This is a great welcome offer as it gives you full flexibility with your bet.

Additionally, your extra winnings are paid out in sweet cash! To get the deal, all you have to do is sign up, select any market from the sportsbook and make a bet with a maximum stake of £10, select the Double the Odds option on the bet-slip and confirm the betting order! With this kind of deal ready to insure even the most far-flung of first bets, you can’t go wrong with signing up to Grosvenor today!

All the other basics are executed well, however. The range of sports markets is large and can already compete with the best. Most of these markets support in-play betting too. Grosvenor seems to be mainly focusing on the football betting market, which is a smart move. There are leagues and youth leagues from all over the world and tons of betting options.

The betting markets propping up the sports are also strong. There are most of the new bet types we’ve grown to love on offer, though there are a few fairly common markets missing, with some of the more obscure options the biggest bookies are offering not available. A cash-out feature for in-play bets completes the package and worked smoothly in our experience. We heard of some slow loading times when the site was initially rolled out, but this problem appears to have been solved as we didn’t encounter any of this.

The in-play arena is organised by sport. The pages for events look slick but are lacking a little bit of the detail and statistics that some other operators provide. However, you can live stream horse and greyhound races, which makes up for this a bit. These are not so essential for most punters, but it’s always nice to be able to watch an event, especially if there are no viewing requirements.

One extra feature that impressed us was the statistics service. A few operators have this, but Grosvenor provides a very useful stats service that can aid with your betting. It’s available for many different sports and allows you to check past results and all the stats from those fixtures.

Aesthetically, it’s clear a lot of thought went into the look of the platform. The colour scheme is slick, while the layout is clear and negotiating your way around the website simple. The platform is hosted as a tab on the main Grosvenor website, so you can switch between the sports area and others easily, like the casino or poker room.

The platform is protected by Symantec and the sign-up process is verified by Verisign technology. All in all, it’s a nice feature list that will appeal to both new and experienced punters, though it will need to introduce a little more if it’s to attract users away from the established sites at this point.

Grosvenor Mobile Betting App Reviewed

Once you launch the app you will see the same markets that you will find on the Grosvenor mobile website, which is a great selection of over 35 markets. No surprises that the usual suspects such as football, horse racing and greyhound racing are covered but you can also find obscure events such as netball, cycling, athletics, and floorball covered. If you need a break from sport betting there is a novelty bet section with many diverse topics such as Donald Trump being named Time magazine person of the year, the value of pound sterling being higher or lower than the Euro, and many more.

The app is easy to use. The menu icon is located on the top left of the screen so this enables almost all of the screen space to be used for the betting markets, which is something we liked. Many online sports bookmakers’ apps look fairly dull but Grosvenor’s offering includes a lot of colour which makes the visuals attractive but not distracting.

How Can I Deposit Funds?

There’s a small but concise range of payment options available. The methods cover different types of payments, meaning everyone should find a suitable method here. There’s card payments, e-Wallets and a pre-paid card option, all of which have a £10 minimum deposit, which is a little higher than the £5 minimum some operators offer.

We tested deposits via several methods and they were all pretty much instant. Withdrawals were a little slower, but nothing out of the ordinary and always in line with what the company has stated. This didn’t affect us during our Grosvenor Sports review, as we could withdraw easily, securely and with confidence.

How Can I Contact Customer Service?

We were most impressed by the customer service here. We checked the live chat option before we joined up as a member to the site and were happy to see that we were able to chat with an operator even without a membership or username. The customer service operator was most helpful and answered all of our questions satisfactorily.

The company offers a complete customer service package, as it’s often the case that there are teething problems when rolling out a new service. That means that there are several contact methods available 24/7. Live chat was our favourite during our Grosvenor Sports review, but there’s also the option to email, phone or write the bookmaker.

Of course, it’s not always necessary to contact a customer service operator. There’s a pretty comprehensive FAQ section on the site that was very helpful for our Grosvenor Sports review, though it was unable to answer some of the questions we had as it is lacking in specific details in some areas. However, it does do a good job of covering the basics. But that’s what customer service is for!

A History of the Company

The Grosvenor name has been synonymous with casinos since 1970 and nowadays has over 55 casinos located across the UK. It’s only recently that it has voyaged into the sports betting world, however. The company is owned by the Rank Group, which is a British Gambling company based in the UK. Rank owns other gambling companies and is listed on both the London Stock Exchange and the FTSE 250.

The Grosvenor online betting site has always been at the cutting edge of gambling technology, and it introduced many innovative products and ideas to the industry. It acquired numerous other companies or groups throughout its growth. In 2016 Grosvenor launched its online sportsbook, which extended its offering to a casino, poker, sports betting, games, live casino, slots and more.

One For the Future

We’re committed to providing you with the newest products of the sports betting world and for this reason, we thought we’d provide this Grosvenor Sports review. The bookmaker put a lot of thought into their sports betting service, and the result is a very impressive package considering it’s relatively young in the industry.

Football betting is a specific strong point and it’s clear the company focuses on this area. There’s almost everything you need; a wide range of sports, good betting markets and a smooth in-play betting experience. This is rounded off with a strong customer service offering and a concise range of payment methods.

The weaknesses are pretty obvious and while we have tried to give an objective review of the sportsbook without letting these omissions affect it too much, unfortunately, it’s impossible to ignore them completely. The fact that there are no live streams available and a very limited promotions list.

But, since the bookmaker is learning on the go, we can forgive these issues on the promise that they will be remedied in the near future. If they are, then the Grosvenor Sports betting site is definitely worthy of your attention. It should definitely be on your list as one to watch for the future, but in the meantime, check out our other UK betting sites.
